Culture Days

Culture Days logo.Culture Days raises the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. With the support of volunteer groups at the national, provincial and local levels, hundreds of thousands of artists, cultural workers, organizations and groups, volunteers and supporters self-mobilize to host free participatory public activities that take place in hundreds of cities and towns throughout the country over a month each year.

Culture Days will run from September 20 to October 13, 2024.

Need help funding your Culture Days program? The Saskatchewan Library Association is offering ten $200 grants to libraries who put on programming for Culture Days. Both individual and institutional SLA members are eligible to apply for the grants. NOTE: In order to create equal access to the funding for all SLA members, your application for SLA’s Culture Days grant will not be considered if you have already received Culture Days Hub Sponsorship through SaskCulture.

Applications for Culture Days program grants are now closed. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by July 18, 2024.

Successful applicants are required to submit a final report to SLA, including any receipts, by November 13, 2024. SLA will mail out a cheque for the exact amount requested up to $200 after the final report and all receipts have been received.

Events, activities, programs, or performances must be held between September 20 and October 13, 2024 to be eligible for a grant. SLA grants cannot be used to pay for library equipment, staff wages, or books. SLA will pay exact costs, with receipts, up to $200.
