Early Career Librarian Award
Eligibility
The SLA Early Career Librarian Award is an award of merit for outstanding service to libraries by someone who has made a contribution to the library profession during the first five years of their career. This award is open to all, individuals or institutions or groups, and not restricted to professional librarians or members of SLA.
To be eligible for the SLA Early Career Librarian Award, a candidate must fulfill the following:
- Have merit-based evidence of providing outstanding service to libraries, institutions, or groups in Saskatchewan as provided by at least one Letter of Nomination from a nominator.
- Nominator(s) must be a member of SLA.
Each nominator is required to provide a letter of nomination. This letter should include reasons for the nomination that include the nominee’s outstanding service to libraries. The letter should also contain relevant biographical and professional details.

Nomination submissions are to be made to the SLA Office through the online application form or by email to info@saskla.ca.

The Awards Sub-Committee issues calls for nominations from SLA members and establishes submission deadlines. Nominations usually open January 1 and close March 1 annually. All nominations will be reviewed by the SLA Awards Sub-Committee.
