July 1, 2017

The Canadian Federation of Library Associations-Fédération canadienne des associations de bibliothèques (CFLA-FCAB) Truth and Reconciliation Report and Recommendations are now available. SLA members at the association’s Annual General Meeting on May 4, 2017 voted to endorse the 10 recommendations presented in the CFLA-FCAB Truth and Reconciliation Report and Recommendations.

SLA looks forward to continued work with CFLA-FCAB’s Indigenous Matters Committee and the library community at large on its path forward for respecting Indigenous culture and increasing access to traditional Indigenous knowledge.

The SLA Board of Directors will be focusing on these recommendations in the coming year and will engage the membership in the discussions. The CFLA-FCAB Indigenous Resources Hub is live at  http://cfla-fcab.ca/en/indigenous/! Please share widely!
