Book Spine Poetry Contest

A poem made of book spines stacked on top of one another reads "Dear Evelyn / In Case I Go / Do Not Become Alarmed / I've Been Meaning to Tell You / Everything Arrives At the Light. The Book Spine Poetry Contest is an annual contest run by the Saskatchewan Library Association and hosted each fall, overlapping with Culture Days.

What is book spine poetry? Book spine poetry is when a poem is created by stacking books on top of each other, with each title on the spine of a book making up a line in the poem.

The contest features four age categories: children (ages 5 to 8), children (ages 9 to 12), teens (ages 13 to 18), and adults (ages 19 and up). The winner in each age category receives a $100 Indigo gift card. The second place winner in each category receives $50 gift card, and third place a $25 gift card. This contest is open to Saskatchewan residents only.
