Advocacy Resources

The Library Advocacy Now! program consists of background material and exercises that will make you understand your own passion for libraries and how better to tell the library story to others. See CLA’s Advocacy Resource pages.

Some very interesting and useful materials are coming out of Alberta’s Marigold Library System. Check out their Advocacy! @ your library newsletter.

This is a ALA Advocacy site that might provide some interesting reading, I Love Libraries.

Saskatchewan Council of Archives and Archivists (SCAA) Public Awareness Toolkit. Loud and Clear: Raising Archival Awareness in Saskatchewan – A toolkit developed by the Saskatchewan Council for Archives and Archivists 2007. Although this PDF document is focused on advocacy towards archives, it contains information on letter writing, how to communicate with the media, writing op ed pieces, press releases, etc.
