Promoting the Value of Libraries:  Building a Plan

The 2016-17 Advocacy Committee continues to build on the work done last year, and a trainer was brought in to inform the members about advocacy and extend their own learning.

A well-structured plan, combined with research, led each committee member to contribute to the work and provide a series of articles, a set of tools and a bibliography.

The committee will hold a session at the 2017 Saskatchewan Libraries Conference to help participants structure a plan to advocate or build community engagement around the work of their local library.

SLA has produced a series of background papers on advocacy that will be of use as we move into our third quarter century.
