Duties of Vice-President

Governance and Duties of Vice President (President-Elect)

  1. Presides at all meetings of the Association (except committee and section meetings) in the absence of the President.
  2. Assumes Presidential responsibilities should the office of President be vacated.
  3. Is a signing officer of the Association along with the President, Treasurer and Executive Director.
  4. Serves on the Finance, Executive and the Personnel Committees.
  5. Sits as a voting member on the Continuing Education Committee when it is convened.
  6. Sits as a member of the Information Policy Committee when it is convened.
  7. Convenes the SLA Frances Morrison Award Committee.
  8. Prepares a report for every meeting of the Board of Directors.
  9. Represents the Association to the media, to other Associations, and other formal capacities in the absence of the President.
