Governance and Duties of Director for Aboriginal Library Services
- Is elected for a two-year term, which can be renewed, and is a member of the Board.
- Is responsible for communicating SLA policies and procedures with members of Aboriginal library sector of SLA.
- Is responsible for communicating the needs of the Aboriginal library services to the SLA Board. As a member of the SLA Board, helps to create policy, programs and special projects, which are beneficial to the Aboriginal library services and reflect the interests of the sector.
- Is a member of the Membership Committee. Through this committee tries to increase the membership of SLA in the Aboriginal library services.
- Is a member of the Continuing Education Committee. Through this committee helps to produce training and education opportunities, which are useful for members of Aboriginal library services.
- It is a duty of the Director to ensure that Aboriginal library services is represented on the conference program planning committee.
- Liaises with various Aboriginal library communities and associations, provincially, nationally and internationally.
- Reports to the Board at every meeting.
