Committees and Sections
Program Committees:
Saskatchewan Libraries Conference Committee
– Plans the conference program and activities of the annual conference to enhance professional skills and provide networking opportunities.
Term: 1 year. Monthly meetings.
Saskatchewan Library Week Committee
– Plans the annual general program for Saskatchewan Library Week to raise awareness of libraries and library services in Saskatchewan.
Term: 10 months. Monthly meetings.
Trust Committees:
Mary Donaldson Memorial Trust Committee
– Recommends speakers for the Mary Donaldson Memorial Lecture; administers the award of excellence; raises and administers funds for the Trust.
Term: 2 years. Approx 5-6 meetings per year.
SLA Frances Morrison Award Committee – recommends to the Board recipient for the SLA Frances Morrison Award for outstanding service to libraries. Term – 6 months – approx 2 meetings per year.
Saskatchewan Libraries Education Bursary Committee – responsible to review bursary applications and recommend a recipient.
Term: 2 years. 3-4 meetings per year.

Communication Committee:
Term: 2 years
• Advocacy Committee – Advocates on behalf of all types of library service in Saskatchewan with the general public.
Meetings as needed.
• Website Committee – Responsible for the management and maintenance of the SLA website for a promotional/communications; provides a forum for library issues, linking library associations and libraries of all kinds, reporting on the activities of the Board of Directors, and providing a cultural link in the province.
Meetings as needed.
Continuing Education Committee
– Undertakes a yearly planning process to initiate and develop continuing education activities, including the Education Institutes.
Term: 2 years. Meetings as needed.
Fundraising Committee
– Develops, reviews and maintains a fundraising plan for the SLA.
Term: 2 years. Meetings as needed.
Membership Committee
– Broadens membership base through review, updating and marketing.
Term 2 years. Meetings as needed.
