About

The Saskatchewan Library Association is a provincial, volunteer, non-profit organization designed to further the development of library service in Saskatchewan and through libraries, the culture of the province. SLA achieved charitable status in 2003. The Saskatchewan Library Association includes as members: individuals, institutions, and organizations who share a common interest in library service and cultural activities.

SLA provides information, advocacy, awareness, education, membership benefits and cultural opportunities for library workers and the public at large through its general operations and programs.

SLA History

The Saskatchewan Library Association’s rich History extends over sixty years.

Board of Directors

The direction of the SLA is guided by the Board of Directors.

If you would like to be a member of the board, please complete the nomination form and submit it before the next AGM which is held each spring in concurrence with the Saskatchewan Libraries Conference.

The Saskatchewan Library Association has several standing and ad hoc committees, as well as representatives on provincial and national organizations. If you are interested in getting involved please contact the office or the appropriate member of the Board of Directors.

SLA Governance
The SLA Governance Handbook contains all of our constitutions, bylaws, and policies. SLA’s Mission & Vision Statements provide the direction to the association.

SLA’s archived Annual Reports are available on-line for the past few years.

Support and Funding
The SLA greatly appreciates all the support and funding we receive. SLA also gratefully accept donations for operations, programs, the Mary Donaldson Memorial Trust, the SLA Frances Morrison Award, the Saskatchewan Libraries Education Bursary, and other opportunities. SLA issues charitable tax receipts for all donations.

The SLA is proud to recognize individuals within the Saskatchewan library community with a variety of awards and bursaries.
